Obsession. I Lived.

SO. Bryce and I have an obsession with this song. It is called I Lived by OneRepublic. We LOVE it so MUCH! I literally listen to at least once every single day. It reminds us of our childhood. It reminds us of lots of different things in our lives. Our childhood. Our parents. Soccer. Rock climbing. Snowboarding. South Africa. Guatemala. Our future family. So many things. Please listen to this song on youtube. You can thank me later :)

I'm a Mormon

I have always loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love it because I know it is true and it brings me so much happiness and comfort each day of my life. I created a mormon.org profile to share with others what I know to be true. Check it out here!

Hi I'm Beki. I'm a soccer player. I'm a teacher. I'm a wife. I'm a Mormon.

Bryce's Birthday Weekend!

I love my husband. And I love that he was born about 24 years ago so that we could meet, be best friends, fall in love, and get married! I wanted to do something fun for Bryce's birthday this year.... but there was one problem. On the day of his birthday, I had a soccer banquet I had to attend.... (Guess who is going to be the head girls soccer coach next year?!?) so talk about a lame birthday. Then we couldn't celebrate the next day because of parent teacher conferences... So I wanted to do something really fun to make up for the fact that his actual birthday was pretty lame. So we celebrated on the weekend, instead. I reserved a yurt up at Badger Creek for Friday night. It was such a blast! Just the two of us went up since none of our friends could go.... but it was an incredibly fun getaway for just the two of us.

Here is a picture of the Yurt we stayed in!

We were so excited!

We roasted hotdogs over the fire in the stove for dinner and had some yummy hot chocolate for dessert.

Then we watched a movie on the projector before falling asleep for the night.

We had bagels and hot chocolate for breakfast...

And then we went for a walk outside to check out the view.

On our walk, we made snow angels...

And we ended up having a snowball fight!

I love being married to my best friend!

We eventually made our way back to Rexburg where we met up with our good friends Cameron and Alyssa for dinner at Costa Vida.

All in all, we had a ton of fun this weekend. Happy birthday, Bryce!
I love you!

Happy Halloween 2013!

So... Bryce and I don't normally dress up for Halloween. I never feel like spending money on a costume, and I usually don't feel creative enough to come up with one on my own. But this year we did dress up because they said we HAD to dress up if we wanted to come to the ward Halloween party. So I spent an hour one night googling couple's Halloween costumes. You got the usuals: Mario and Luigi, Batman and Robin, a couple of thieves, prince and princess.... all things I would have to spend money for, and frankly, I didn't want to. Anyway, I finally stumbled onto a nerdy couple costume website.... you would be shocked at the creativity of costumes I found there! I settled on having Bryce and I dress up as Google Maps, since that would only cost the price of two poster boards and a roll of yellow duct tape. This is how it turned out. Pretty awesome, eh?

Anyway, everywhere we went, and after posting the picture on Facebook, I had, like, a jillion people say, "WOW! That is so CREATIVE!" or "Holy cow! How did you come up with that idea?" It's at times like this that I really wish I was creative, and that I really could have come up with this idea on my own... but nope. I sadly had to tell each one of them that the creativity resided in Google itself, and that I cannot take credit for the idea. It was a great costume! I wish I had thought of it myself so I could bask in the glory that everyone tried to give me! Haha

Surprises

The husband surprised me with these beautiful flowers the other day. Just because. I love that man.

I Love October

Something I have realized over the last couple years is that I LOVE the month of October. It is probably one of my favorite months of the year. I love the cool, crisp air. I love that it is the time of year to start wearing hoodies again. I love all the colors of fall. I love sound of crunchy leaves, and I will go out of my way to step on them. It is also a fun month because it is the month of spooky things and straw/corn mazes and pumpkin carving and college football. It is just a really fun month!

Here are the pumpkins Bryce and I carved for FHE this week. Mine is the one-eyed monster and Bryce's is the haunted pumpkin house.

The other night we also went to a concert of one of our friends. Alan is the drummer.

Here are our concert buddies!

Then we went to the Haunted Straw Maze.... it is so epic. It was scary and you get super lost. Then you have to crawl through a straw tunnel at one point to get to the other side of the maze, which was really fun and extra creepy.

Anyway, like I said. We love October. Happy October, everyone!

Artists

A couple weeks ago, Bryce and I decided to switch up FHE a little bit. We went over to our good friends Cameron and Alyssa's house and painted! This is something we have never really done before, and we aren't artistic by any means, but it was so fun!

Here is our combined creation:

And here are our individual paintings. Bryce's is on the top and mine is on the bottom:

Dumpster Diving

A Dirt Devil Powerstick Vacuum: $29.99

A Dirt Devil Featherlite Vacuum: $59.99

A Buckle Brand Vintage Hoodie: $39.95

A pair of Maurices High Heels: $34.00

A 2006 Macbook Pro + Install Disks: Average $200 on Ebay

XBox 360: $90 on Ebay

What do all these things have in common, you ask? Bryce and I got all these things for FREE! From where, you ask? A dumpster. Yes. You read that right. A dumpster.

It turns out if you go dumpster diving at the end of a school semester in a college town, you can hit the jackpot on way nice stuff like this! I know. I didn't believe it either... until I experienced it myself.

Well you know where to find Bryce and me at the end of every semester now... Rich, single-student apartment complex dumpsters. Feel free to join us!

Washington and Canada

This is a VERY belated post. But now that I am on harvest break at school (we get 2 weeks off for potato harvest) I can finally catch up on some much needed blogging. Back in July, Bryce and I went on a trip with my mom and dad and aunt Kathy to Washington and Canada. We started out our trip in Lacey and stayed at Kathy's house. We even got to see my uncle Steve while we were there.

Then we drove up to Vancouver, British Columbia, and stayed a night up there. We visited a cool part of Vancouver called Gas Town. It was fun to imagine what the town was like not so long ago when the winter olympics were there.

The next day, we got on a ferry and went over to Victoria, British Columbia. I loved Victoria. It was so beautiful and picturesque. We got to walk around the touristy streets and experience the fun culture. One of my favorite nights in Victoria is when Bryce and I stayed up late and watched some street fair shows. We saw some acrobats and a magician. We finished off our night with ice cream at a fun little shop.

We had to take a Titanic picture here.... it was perfect.

We mostly love this photo because of the lady in the background.... Enjoy :)

Bryce was SOOO excited to find a Nando's in Victoria. It was his favorite restaurant in South Africa.

We also got to go zip lining in Victoria... it was SO FUN! Even though Bryce was a little nervous, he thought it was a blast too! Definitely glad we got to do that. Thanks mom and dad!

We also got to go to the famous Butchart Gardens. Absolutely breathtakingly beautiful.

It was such a fun vacation where we got to make a lot of fun, new memories. Thanks mom, dad, and Kathy!
