SOOO.... I will start from the beginning...they WAY beginning. Don't worry, it wont be too long of a story. So I met Bryce Michael Call in the fall of 2005. I was a sophomore at Centennial High School, and I literally had no friends. One day, I decided to branch out. I decided to sit by someone at lunch, instead of all by myself somewhere. When I saw the familiar face of Megan Stockinger (now Hopkins), I decided that next to her would be the perfect place to eat my lunch. A moment after taking my seat and saying a quick hello to Megan, I noticed a cute boy, standing in front of me, and he was looking at me, as if there was a problem. After an awkward moment of eye contact, he said, "You're sitting in my spot......."..... The first words Bryce ever said to me. Romantic, don't you think? (Bryce doesn't really remember much of this.... but it is so vivid in my memory haha) Of course I moved over, but decided to go sit by myself again... from now on. So thats what I did. A week or so when by, when I saw Bryce approaching me in the hallway. He proceeded to ask me to come eat lunch with him and his friends. After a slight moment of hesitation, I gladly accepted the invite.
The years went by, and we always kinda liked each other. We started really dating after high school as we were heading off to college at BYU-Idaho together. As things got more and more serious as far as feelings go, reality set in... Bryce was going to go on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That's 10,000 miles away, in South Africa, for 2 years. 720 days. 1,051,200 minutes. So long to be without the love of your life. I knew I was going to wait for him. He was honestly everything I could ever want... and then some. He was my very best friend. The 2 years went by very very VERY slowly, but it was the greatest, happiest reunion you can imagine. 2 years later, I was still in love with my best friend.
Things were going great! The very day he got home, everything felt just as natural as the day he left. Starting the day he got home on June 1, 2011, we were just as inseparable as we always were before his mission. Three weeks later he asked me on a date. We went up to the foothills in Eagle and sat and watched the sunset. We were extending a conversation from the night before when he asked me, "What do you think it will be like to be married?" I awkwardly responded, "... I don't know..." (romantic, I know) Then he said, "Well do you want to find out?" He proceeded to pull out my "ring" and asked me to marry him. I said, (drum roll please....) "YES!" It was a very happy day. I can hardly believe how lucky I am to get to marry such an amazing person. I can't stop smiling, even now. I LOVE BRYCE! The pictures below are of my temporary ring, until we go ring shopping this Tuesday! Pretty cool ring, huh? :)
So yep! That's my readers digest version of Bryce's and my love story. Who would have thought I would be marrying the boy who told me to move over in the hallway all those years ago. It's funny, because I honestly don't remember what our first date was, I don't remember the first time we held hands... but I will always remember and be forever be blessed for the influence he has on my life as my best friend, my boyfriend, now my fiance, and my future husband!
awhhhhh! You are so stinking cute! I LOVE this! SO MUCH! Thanks for sharing :)I am so excited for you!

ReplyDeleteBeki! I'm so glad I got to be your roommate! Esspecially during the last stretch of the wait. I was rooting for you the whole way! Thats why I'm so happy it worked out. I think the ring he chose alone, is enough to confirm for me, he's the one for you. :)

ReplyDeleteHi there! I'm just a random person who somehow stumbled upon this blog, but I wanted to say congratulations! My own story starts similarly, we've been inseparable for a few years, but I'm still in the waiting stage. "Hump Day" is coming up soon huzzah! I'm hoping my story will continue to pan out like yours next year =) Anyway, thanks for making me smile today, and I really am happy for you! Haha that's all, have a fantastic day!!
