Champions

After 6 years of trying, I have finally done it. I have finally earned myBYU-Idaho Rec Sports Championship t-shirt. Thanks to my team, Kim B's Finest, I am one of the newest reigning advanced futsal champions.

It was an epic championship game. As the game started, I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. I wanted this championship title so bad. We scored the first goal, and then the second goal... we were looking pretty good. The other team then retaliated with an impressive sliding shot into the back of our net. We were up 2-1 at the start of the second half. About half way through the second half, though, our lead was taken from us with another goal from the other team. The score was then 2-2. After an excruciatingly difficult second half, the game ended, still tied.

We then began over time. In futsal, we have a 5 minute over time, sudden death/golden goal rule... meaning whoever scores first wins. If it is still tied at the end of the over time, we go in to a shoot out. Pressure was on.

The whistle blew, and the 5 minutes started to count down. About 20 seconds in, one of our players took a beautiful shot that I just knew was going to go in... but it didn't. The keeper dove and tipped it out of bounds, giving us a corner. The time kept ticking. The corner was taken, and then deflected back to one of our players. He took the shot. Upper right hand corner. Nothing was stopping it. It was in for sure. The beautiful sound of the ball hitting the back of the net was all I could hear for a moment. That goal finished our game, making us the champions!

The crowd exploded up with excitement and everyone stormed the court. Champions at last. It feels good to be a champion. And it feels really good to finally have have a BYU-Idaho Rec Sports championship t-shirt. :)

T25

At the beginning of this year, I decided that I wanted to get back in shape. I haven't been in shape in years... not since high school soccer, at least. I wanted to lose some weight, get stronger... and never see 168 pounds on the scale again... unless there was another human being inside of me.

So I started working out. I actually bought a dvd set from the beach body program. This particular set is called T25. It is the most amazing work out program I have ever heard of... or used! I LOVE it! It is a series of 25 minute work outs that are probably the hardest workouts I have ever had... but they are only 25 minutes! The program tells you what workouts to do on what days... I have stuck exactly to it since the day I got it... and I am proud to say that I have officially lost about 20 pounds! YAY! I feel so much healthier and leaner and stronger. I LOVE T25!!!

Mid 20's?

Well I clearly have been terrible at blogging.

It has been over a month.

Ooops.

Anyway. Just to catch up, my 24th birthday was amazing! Does that mean I am in my mid 20's?

We celebrated with our friends the weekend before by eating pizza and cake and playing laser tag and mini golf!
Here is Cameron, Alyssa, and Maura

And Stephen and Blythe

And Bryce and Me!

And my awesome cake that Blythe made me :)

My actual birthday was pretty much the best birthday ever. My hubby spoiled me and got me some new dishes and a bike rack for the Subaru. Both things I really wanted!

To celebrate on that day, we went out to dinner with the Lilly's. (Cameron, Alyssa, and Maura.)

Earlier in the day, though, is what really was the highlight of my birthday. Of course I started the day off with a birthday selfie...

During homeroom, I got called down to the office. There was a plate of cookies there for me. I hurried back to my class because I had left my students unattended.... oops. Anyway, when I came back, all the lights were off, and when I entered my classroom, I was greeted with a SURPRISE birthday party!!! I was SOOO surprised and so touched that I immediately shed a few tears. How embarrassing. But it was a blast! There was cake and cookies and ice cream and soda and presents and banners and cards... The whole shebang! It was so fun and SO sweet!

I will NEVER forget this birthday. It was amazing. Here is to being 24!

Maura, LLC

Bryce and his friends, Cameron, Jordan, and Stephen, have officially started a business together. It is called Maura. As of right now, they are mostly doing web design and web applications. He really enjoys doing this a lot. They have several clients right now, including the BYU-Idaho catering department and Anonymous Thank You's. In addition to these, they are also making websites for a few new businesses, including a pest control business. They are really taking off!

The name of the business, Maura, is named after Cameron and Alyssa's baby. Kinda funny, but I like their purpose for doing so. They wanted to have the name of the company be a reminder to them of why they started the business, and what is most important to them - family.

Anyway. If this keeps up, and keeps moving forward, these guys would love to just have this as their business to support their families for years to come. We will see how it goes! (Now we just gotta get them to want to move to Boise... shouldn't be too hard :)

No matter what happens, though, I am super proud of my awesome husband. He works so hard! If Maura continues to progress, that is great! But I know Bryce will do amazing at whatever he ends up doing for a living.

Here is proof... Maura, LLC is on an official business database!

Important Dates (For Posterity's Sake)

As Valentine's Day approaches, love is in the air, and my mind is completely directed to my super smokin' hot husband, Bryce. I love hearing other people's love stories, but I think mine and Bryce's is the best. However, unlike most people, I don't have a list of dates of when important milestones happened in our lives. For instance, people can know off the top of their head what day was their first date, the first day they held hands with their spouse, or the first time they kissed. I on the other hand, don't. Anyway, I have come up with a list of important dates to remember that have to do with Bryce's and my relationship. Yes. Some of them are completely made up. Deal with it.

The day we met:
August 30, 2005

The day we went on our first date (Homecoming):
October 4, 2006

The first time we held hands:
December 7, 2006

The first time he told me he loved me:
November 1, 2008

The first time I told him I loved him back:
December 31, 2008

The first time we kissed (This date I actually know):
February 13, 2009

The day he proposed (This date I actually know):
June 23, 2011

The day we got married (This date I actually know):
 September 1, 2011

Happy February!

And the Internship Interviews Begin

Bryce has been beginning to apply different places for internships. He is pretty open to anywhere that is computer science-y.

He had one interview on Tuesday at a place here in Rexburg called "Get Found First." It's actually a website that is called getfoundfirst.com. They do internet advertising and search engine optimization for a bunch of different companies. It is just a small company, consisting of about 6 people. Bryce was actually offered an internship there. They said that they wanted him and could use him whenever he was available for an internship. However, since this is an unpaid internship, he is going to continue to interview and just keep this one in mind as a back up.

Bryce also has an interview tomorrow (Friday) with Hewlett Packard in Boise. I am so excited for him. I hope he nails the interview, because I think this would be a perfect internship for him. No pressure, though. Something will work out and be perfect for us. Unfortunately, if Bryce doesn't get a local internship (as in anywhere from Idaho Falls to Ashton), we will have to be separated for about 3ish months. So, if things did work out with Bryce and HP (or somewhere else) he would be in Boise for 3 months, and I would have to be in here.

Bryce also has a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) Fair to go to on February 13-14 down at BYU in Provo. I am going to go with him, and make a fun weekend out of it! Hopefully he will be able to land a few more interviews there.

We are excited to find out within the next few months where he will get an internship!
